Sea Storm

A far boat flees the trembling monster fright
which shudders black with shiverings of wind
the lone land hushes in a dismayed sigh
and sudden calm of such sinister ring.

Short howling gusts forewarn the roaring beast
the life is silent, the whole world witholds.
Waves unrestraining swirling whirls of mist
blow up and hit, struggle each other, bold

strike hard the shore, puffing to the clouds
sprinklings of rage. Again the turmoil falls
to amazed silence. For an instant loud
screechs like a cry, sending acute calls

through the expanse of fury, and black flights
in the dark grey, appear gloomy death plights
